Ready for the Season

30 Oct 2008 | : Fantasy Hoops

The website is mostly ready for the season.  The rosters, schedule, transaction list, etc. are all updated.  Check out your roster and make sure I have the positions correct.  As I was typing in the rosters I came to a couple of realizations.

  1. Captain Mo looks like he’ll have a competitive team for the first time since the late 90′s.
  2. Royz Boyz could struggle.  I almost feel like Royz Boyz thought the NBA was replaying the 2007-2008 season again.  Is Brandon Roy better or worse when the Trailblazers add Greg Oden, Jarryd Bayless and Rudy Fernandez?  Is Chris Kamon better or worse with Baron Davis and Marcus Camby (and without Corey Maggette)?  Will Mo Williams get more shots in Cleveland than he did in Milwaukee?  Will Mike Miller get more shots in Minnesota than he did in Memphis?
  3. DaLoot fell apart in Round 3…two rounds later than he fell apart in last year’s draft.  Vince Carter is a big question mark.  A reach here in there is part of the fun of the draft, but reaching on picks 5-12 is going overboard.

Happy to have Rashard Lewis playing forward again in the Pitchadeuce Fantasy League.

Thanks to the host of the draft and thanks to the out-of-towners for making the trip.  Always a good time.  Good luck to all!

No nonsense

02 Oct 2008 | : NBA

It is pretty well known that I’m a huge KG fan.  I have probably watched 90% of his games and interviews since he came into the league in 1995.  Why do I like him so much?  One obvious reason is because of how hard he plays at both ends of the court every game of every season.  He played as hard in the NBA Finals last year as he did in a January game vs. Atlanta in 2001 with the Timberwolves.

The other reason I am a big KG fan can be seen in this video.  Pay attention to how KG describes the situation in Las Vegas over the summer.  It’s as if he is saying, “yeah, that makes sense…what the heck.”  “No nonsense.”
